She is a poet who is also a songwriter; a songwriter who plays guitar; a guitarist who plays flute; a flute player who sings; a singer who leads a band; and a bandleader who writes poetry.
This multiplicity of interests might be exhausting for many; for Ms. Harrison such diverse activity stems from the belief that we must unleash all of our personae, and it comes to fruition in the concept that one should explore all of one's talents in the service of some higher good.
Ms. Harrison has worn many other hats; she is a painter (her watercolor fantasias are surreal and pointillistic), a photographer whose work documents such diverse subjects as murals, stained glass, license plates, neon signs, and the blues scene in New York City, and she builds tiny dollhouse rooms to perfect 1:12 scale.
